Hey Air, great post...that is a question I've pondered for about the last month - why isn't anybody fishing??

Me - I'm taking the day off on Friday the 13th (I know) so I will leave on Thursday evening to go to Surfside SC and fish out of Murrells Inlet. My plan is to leave the boat down there at a storage facility. This way, I can trailer down the 14ft Mckeecraft CC and have both the big and little boat available for my long-weekend fishing adventures. I'm going to invest in a couple of crab traps which I will deploy on Friday mornings, check and or re-bait until Sunday. Another thing on my list is flounder gigs, flounder lights and a pair of deep cycle batteries.

Actually I will be taking pretty much every other Friday off work for the rest of the year so here's how I see it playing out in my mind:

Thursday nights - arrive around 9 pm after 3.5 hr drive with Mckee Craft in tow (approx. 15 gallons of fuel in the Yukon)

Fridays - I may be solo some of these due to friends having
to work, if so I will either fish the V near shore or the Mckee in the creeks and jetties for flatties and such. I will also bait and deploy the crab traps.
(fuel burn in Mckee is negligable - she sips)

Friday evenings - Eat fresh fish from the day's catch. Friends arrive and we prep the V for Saturday and possibly squeeze in some flounder gigging depending on the tides. Re-fuel Mckee if necessary.

Saturdays - up before sunrise with visions of king mackeral, cobia, spades, bsb, and stray dolphin dancing in our heads. Run out anywhere b/t 15 - 30 miles to find weedlines and/or live bottom spots. Stop on way in to unload and re-bait the crab trap. Pull boat, refuel and tidy up (approx 20 - 30+ gallons of fuel in the V)

Saturday evening - Eat fresh fish and crab from the day's catch. BS with friends about who did what wrong and how funny it was. Maybe gig flounder - again depending on tides and how worn out we are. (fuel burn in Mckee is negligable)

Sunday morning - up early and fish for a few hours either in Mckee or V, then pull the crab traps and head back to clean up and put the V back in storage. Head home 3.5 hrs w/ mckee craft in tow (approx 15 gallons of fuel in the Yukon)

So in summary, I can do all of this for about 70 gallons of fuel which is < $300.
P.S. I planned my Friday's off to coincide with payday
P.S.S. I hope Mrs. Blue doesn't see this or I might get
P.S.S.S. This plan is subject to change at any time - esp if Mrs. Blue finds out.

I wonder how Mrs. Blue sees it?......

BR leaves work Thursday, pick up kids from day care.

Friday, keep kids to save daycare $, do laundry, dishes, dusting.

Saturday, cut grass.

Sunday, do something w/ Mrs. Blue.

Mrs. Blue: "Honey, I love you being off Fridays, it works out great!"
