No it has never been replaced. I know that could be a big job if you cant get the bolts out. What do you think a good price is to sell even if the rod has to be replaced? The last thing I want to do is screw someone over with a bum motor.

Well many have done the shift rod, including me! And it can be a real PIA!!

But not all are rotted yet? But that might be whats going on with the reverse?

If compression is good and all ten I say its worth $1000+ with all the controls, I bought a 89 175 Yamaha with all 5 or 6 years ago and it cost me then $1800

Last year the oil injection stoped working and I blew the motor >:(

Go with the $1300 and see what they offer you, just make sure they know they ot buying a new motor and once they leave the yard its thers forever!!

Yeah I think $1300 is fair. I need to get rid of it ASAP because I am dieing to get my boat in the water. Me and my buddy unloaded the newer engine off the pickup truck by hand last night. Probably one of the hardest tasks I came across in a while. I guess thats why they make engine hoists, they are tricky to pick up by hand.

I dont know what was harder, getting the engine onto dollys by hand with one other guy or removing the old foamed in gastank from my V20 last summer. Both are not fun to do!!!
