Default What else is going to explode.d

In the last 24 hours I have found out that my boat is an illegal copy of a V20 and that I am about to explode any minute because the carburator on the boat is not a marine carburator. Please take a look at the picture of the gas tank and see if you see any other major fire hazards.

On the picture below you can see the gas line comming out of the aft-port side of the tank

You may consider taking that yellow C4 explosive out.

Just kidding I know it is foam.

Your fuel line is copper and looks like t is corroding.
It will take a long time to go through, but I would still consider replacing,
if it is not piited too much.

I gotta ask, what is the meaning behind your screen name?

Illegal copy of a v20 or not, I think your Fibra is a nice boat, and I would guess pretty rare since Fibra was shut down not long after starting production.

Default screen name

Yes my first name is Joaquin and my last name is Barbará. In english the á is not common so it degenerated into Barbara. So now people think that Dr. Barbara is a cute female doctor but it turns out it is a middle aged overweight bald guy. Oops.

Now about the copper line. What should I change it for?

Run a new rubber gas line that is rated marine and for the new ethanol gas. Do the vent, and gas line all the way to the motor.

You have 3 hoses on your tank, one to the motor, one to the vent, and the fill hose.
Vent hose is just as important as the rest as with no air the tank will not work. and they get old and rotted also, so since you have the tank open you should change all while you are there!

Also, is that tank aluminum? I can't tell from the pictures, but it looks almost like a fiberglass tank which was VERY popular back from the 60's to the 80's.

Default tank

the tank is aluminum. I will try to clean it up this weekend and post pictures of what I find there. The fuel gauge is not working either. When I close the circuit between one of the cables and the gauge the needle goes to Full so I guess the gauge is good and the other cable is the one that is not working correctly.

What is your opinion on putting any sweat into fixing the fuel gauge. I have heard from a ton of people that it is not worth the trouble. Just fill up the tank before each trip and be happy with it.
