Default MJ & CB Cod Trip

Well we had a great day!!! *::)

We started out of Hingham, Ma. Boat ramp

Then we are heading out of Hull Gut and I see what I think is a shallow area and slow down, CB says no problem keep going, so I hit the gas just in time to hear the prop grinding on the rocks!!!!!!!!!!!! *::) Thanks CB!! *:-/

So where were we any way??

So we keep going and there no fish any where??? Then Sir Drop alot, (CB) Drops what we thought was going to be the bigest fish of the day!! *:-/ Then I got this Monster!!

So we keep going!! Then Cb gets this monster!

And says what the heck is this???

After he gets that sardine ( I mean Cod) off the rod he says all this mess for that *>:(

So we keep going and Sir Drop alot, (CB ) drops yet another and another and another *:o
But he takes it in stride and we keep fishing!!

So now I have to take a wicked pee and I get ready and what happens? I get a fish!! So I go to reel it in and what does CB do?? Pops out the camera!! Thank god nothing was showing!!

So we keep going.

When Bam!!! CB Has got a monster Cod!! Rod bent in half!! And what does Sir drop alot do, Lost it!! *>:(

Then just 50 yards away some guy in another boat catches what was like a 40 pound Cod 10 min later!! *>:(

But with CB's short comings we still manged 5 keeper Cod for the table! *;D But no one thought of taking pic's of them *:-[

But the day was flat calm!! And boat ran well till got to the boat ramp and the power tilt wasn't working??? After inspection found that the tilt motor cover rotted a hole in it and I lost all the oil!!
So Now i have to find a new one!!

O did i say we had a great day yet?? *;)

We really did and i am glad we went! It was the last trip of the year, it was a great weather day, got some cod, and hung with a good buddy (yes I still love you CB *:-*

Here are some pic's from the trip in, Enjoy!!

$203 for new Trim/Tilt motor. Or I found a hole used trim unit on ebay for $175 + $25 shipping (so far) I might go for the whole unit this way I have all the parts I ever need if anything else were to go wrong??

Nice! I love the "After" shots of the keepers. Practicing "catch and eat" myself!

Nice trip and good times with your bud. What about the prop? Is the batter for your fish the same one you posted earlier? Bill Mc ;D

The Prop will live!! It has a few dings but nothing to bad.

As for the batter, It is a egg wash and then seasoned flour. nothing special. Seasoned flour with salt, pepper, oinon power, what ever .
Came out great!!

As for the power tilt & trim, I am starting another post in repairs. Please read!!
