I heard from a good friend that MJ passed away late last night.
If anyone has any good Macojoe stories or memories, I thought it might be nice to share them here. I know he loved this site. I appreciate all that he did for me personally and the v20 community. RIP MJ. Mounting his new Yamaha 225 on the seaox.

Sorry to hear that, he was definitely an OG on here. Never had to ask him what he was thinking, he let u know.
He and Scup Girl did a lot of sorting and mailing for the tshirts, hats and sweatshirts. Best story was when he & Kenny,I think, took the green water over the bow coming in. Flooded the whole cockpit on his V20. He was truly shocked they made it in. He was a major force on this site. Adios Amigo Thanks for posting BS |

WOW!!! How very sad. I never met him but I felt like I knew him through this site. What a shame. He will be missed, terribly.

I loved that guy. Always ready to help with a problem, and protected the site like a junkyard dog. He reminded me of my step father-in-law - ornery an opinionated, but a heart of gold. I shed more tears when Grampa Ken died than all of my grandparents and my mom & dad. I loved them all, but Ken had that uniqueness that MJ had. It’s a big loss and we’ll miss him.

Agree with all that was said above. The Macojoe days were the golden days of WellcraftV20. Never got to meet him but we spoke over the phone a couple of times. As you guys know he was going through a lot with health issues between him and his wife. Even though he is gone I still feel the all-seeing "eyeball" around here.

I didn't know him personally but felt like I knew him well from the way he handled himself here. Sincerely sorry to his family for his loss.
Are there boats in paradise? There must be or else it wouldn't be paradise. Happy boating and tight lines, MJ. |
