Default New battery cables.

I have a dual battery setup. Old wires need replacing. Had a sluggish crank and warm terminal. Not proceeding further until new wires in place. Both batteries are in the stern. Have a full transom sea drive. Any good online deals for tinned 2 AWG wire? West Marine wants an arm and a leg for ancor. Should I think about moving the batteries at this time? I know some have relocated the batteries forward. She is also in need of wiring upgrades, a bus at least. All the hot wires run straight to battery terminal now, would like to clean it up.

west marine has an excellent price match policy. find a price u like and they will match it.

has to be a amazon prime price, not a 3rd party vendor or ebay auction item.

I used these guys when I moved my batteries forward. Bought three lengths of 2/0 from them pre terminated. Worked out well...

I here west marine will match the price cause they don't want you to go anywhere else, that's fine with me, try ,,discount marine. There located in Connecticut I buy Startron from them But if west marine matches the price West marine is my new shopping store.. About two years ago I bought a thru hull 3/4 inch fitting from west marine they charged me 20.00 Later I found the same one for one dollar But they didn't price match at that time at least I don't think they did.. And that was from flounder pounder in Florida Try discount marine There good and fast Wait It's not discount marine I just checked it's called Defender marine Sorry about that

I used these guys as well. You can customize the cable length, gauge, ends, color. heat shrink, etc. Fast turnaround and they use marine grade / high quality tinned copper. Would definitely order from them again

OK been chasing demons through this 1.8l V4 OMC seadrive. Last year ran great until I had a fuel delivery problem.. I think that was the issue.. now after rebuilding carbs, changing filters, bypassing VRO ( for diagnostic purposes) I haven’t gotten her to turn over and stay fired. Battery is new 1000CCA charged, new 2AWG marine cables. Yesterday after bypassing inboard tank to a portable with 50:1 non E she fired then hiccuped and quit, cranked for another min and noticed heat at the Trim tilt junction box. Upon further inspection the ground side of the box was jury rigged, old repair done by previous owner, improper grounding at the main terminal on box, melting plastic and I’m sure resisting power to starter and power head. This may have been my problem all along. Here are some pics. I am wondering if I can replace the cables from box to the motor, they come in a cable assembly that ain’t cheap. Only the one terminal on the ground side is damaged. Trim and tilt stil functioning, but now no ground to starter. Gonna post pics

Most times with battery problems is an unclean ground. Probably more important than the positive side. It is so important to check and clean battery terminals every season. Be sure to check all terminal connections for anything electrical.
