Default Update on mj

Mj's Daughter here.

Around midnight last night Macojoe was taken into the operating room to begin surgery. Everything went wonderdul and he's currently in recovery. This afternoon he will be in a regular room and the doctor will force him to get up and start walking. He will be home by Wednesday (Thursday at the very latest). The donor kidney is not wkrking as of right now but the doctors explained that it may take a week or two for it to kick in. In the mean time ge will still need some dialysis but everything will be just fine. This is truly the best Christmas gift we could have ever gotten. Let's all keep praying for a speedy recovery so Mj is ready to get back on a boat this summer!!!

Also, I need to stress how important it is to check the little box when renewing your lisenced to be an organ donor. It's moments like this that one families tragity means someone else's life. The donor my father received his kidney from is a 49yo male that passed away from a heart attack. I am terribly saddened for the family to have lost a loved one but if he never checked that box we may not have ever gotten this chance.

Thank you all for the support you have given Mj over the years. You are all appreciated much more than you know.

Merry Christmas!!

ScupGirl (Amanda)
