Looking ahead.......some calm seas forecast from inshore - to offshore Fri - Sunday.
Going to be a LOT of boats out there.....including my V21 flying out at 60 knots with rooster tail soaking all the boats trying to follow. Will be tough decision......poke nose out for palegics .........or bang away at structure for monster sea bass and dormat fluke. |

Give star kiss tuna a try. Go to the Reel Seat drop about 500.00 for starters and bust on to Tackle Direct with another 2000.00 for rods, reels OK lets stop their. (Fishing is a major disease????)

Looks like I'll be fluking tomorrow........usually VHF on 65.....I'm the " V21 "
When I don't answer it's usually because I'm working a huge doormat to the net. |

Fished today....Saturday...out the inlet to find the forecast 2' or less was 3'-4' whitecaps with radio talk of boats turning back from going deep.....some thought 5' sets mixed in.
Radio check......nope receiving but not sending, and depth finder shuts down.... Interesting start to the morning. Hand held radio back up working. Chose the Sea Girt Reef as compromise between Axle and beating my way north. 12-16oz sinkers till it started calming around noon.. Fishing was hot, likely caught 20, 30 fluke ....from 10" - 17" + Bite was really all out in sections of the drift. Managed my 3 keepers, biggest a nice fattie at 25"....maybe 6 lbs. The big one hit a big clam bait I was working for seabass !! Fished till around 3pm with the wind shifting from N to E. |
