Thats the infamous VX76, great motor if you can afford the fuel, its the one with the 6 carburetors plus a stand alone fuel enriching system for higher rpms, something like 40 gph at wot

OMG!!! 40GPH???? I know airplanes that get better economy than that!!! No wonder he wants to get rid of it. Still, ...it is a great motor for the price.

I had heard they were closer to 28-32 GPH at WOT, but that is still ALOT of fuel. I know my ported 225 would gulp down 28 GPH at WOT, but it was right around 250 or so. The 250 YAMAHA was right up there with the 300 V8 EVINRUDE though for fuel consumption. I had a buddy who repowered from a 93 250 YAMAHA to a 225 4 stroke, and his fuel useage dropped to a 1/3rd of what the 250 would burn in a day of fishing.
