I use NJSurfCams in addition to NWS Marine forecast....a picture is worth a thousand words. With a hard West or NW wind the coastal marine forecast can say waveheights 4 to 7 but the beach out to a mile is flat!
I'll check 5 minutes before leaving work......well actually I stare at it all day....
