Default Hook Removal

There was a thread on another website about hook removal and such....somebody posted this video which foremost gives me some insight on what to do if somebody on my boat gets a hook sunk deep in them...hasnt happened yet and honestly before this video I dont know exactly what I would have done.

The thing about the video that gets me chuckling though is my guess it is a charter of guys out boozin and fishin and its the captain that pulls the hook...The look on the captains face is priceless after he pulls the hook kind of like "oh crap this dudes gonna pass out and sue my *** as soon as we get back to the dock"....

Buddy of mine reared back and cast his rod and sunk a lure right into my head. Try as we might, we could not get it out and had to go to the medcheck for help. Went right through my hat and sunk into a bony part of the skull. Not fun. I do not fish with that guy any more.

Last season my fishing buddy sunk hooks in his hand 2 different times. Once with a treble stinger trying to subdue a thrashing mahi and again on with a circle hook tossing out a jug while jug fishing for cats on the lake. Had to do surgery on the boat for the treble. Cut a little hole to allow the point (barb still buried) go on thru, snip off the rest of the treble, and finally grab the point with pliers and pull it thru. Fun Fun Fun!!!

That worked really well.

I was on a head boat one time when a guy ended up with a big ole single hook in his hand just about where that guys was. One of the mates came over and without saying a word, pulled out his plyers, grabbed the guys hand, pushed the point through, cut it off, pulled the shank out, put away his plyers, went back to untangling lines.
