Truthfully I'm partial to the coffin cowl engines. Sweet running engines that seem to last forever with normal care. That 2.0 liter looks like it's in great shape, and only being in sweetwater makes it extra appealing. Plus all the controls and even the hydraulic setup ...
Will they start it so you can hear it run? Compression test? How about a sea trial? Guarentee? I see no mention of hydraulic tilt and trim...?

My 11 and 13 year old sons and I have 100$ down on a 72? V20 in very nice shape but no motor. This forum is a great help in figuring out what we need.... cept money. We sit in the boat in a parking lot and have a great time.. Hope we get on the water..... Want to keep it in RI. Have a marina to work with. If I could get the engine there.. I am going to call on it! THanks!!!!

Good luck with it Megan. Love the thought of you and your two boys sitting in the boat in the parking lot dreaming of being out on the water. Boys are probably making "motorboat" noises while doing it.

Like everything in this world there are no guarentees, but I have the 2.5 liter 200 hp motor on my other boat and it's never given me any problems with the exception of a bad temperature sensor ($24.09 repair part). My experience with them is that they just run forever as long as you do the normal maintenance and such.
