| First Real Trip in the V

Well just got back from a sweet 4 days in Tavernier Key. Rode the boats down with a buddy on an amazing 2 hour ride down from Miami. Got out dolphin fishing early on the 4th and finally got the deck substatially bloodied up. Can't wait to go down there again. |

Actually out of Key Biscayne. My buddy came out of Haulover. It's a freaking amazing ride down. Cross Biscayne Bay, through mangroves... and soon enough you are in The Keys. Let me know if you ever head this way to make the run. There is a little place called Coconut Palm Inn which our friends have been going to for years. Amazing small no frills place with an excellent location and non resort feel to it. Plenty of dock space too. BBQ's, hammocks... I'm dying to make the Key West to Marquesas cross, but may have to trailer to Key West as it's a trek to get there on boat to then keep going: http://www.fishingkeywest.com/marquesas_keys.htm |

Lumbers gonna faint when he sees the blood on the deck. He'll run out and double check his probably to make sure it isn't on his like that. The Marquesas run isn't to bad, only about 30 miles from KEY WEST to get there, but closer to 35-40 if you wanna get up next to the island. Make sure and have GOOD charts though as that area is ROCKY AND filled with MASSIVE coral heads. I wanna make the Dry Tortugas run myself, but my boat just doesn't have the distance in it for a safe run. 90 miles and I average 2-2.2 MPG in the HYDRA-SPORTS with a 87 gallon tank, sure don't leave any room for error.
