Great job...sweet looking boat. I hope the fish appreciate all the time that you took to make it look nice for them.

Default You got it covered...

Nice to see the son doing his part. It was my father that infused boating in my blood.
I'm trying to take my bottom paint Off. I've done half the transom and about 5' along the aft/portside. Being I keep the boat on a trailer I figure I would go around bare glass. I like the clean look. I also hope to get less resistance when going through the water. (am I fooling myself ?)
Anyway, great shots of the boat and the new pic at the base of your posts shows the boat in a very aggressive (Tough) light.

Fishwhisperer 180, you might want to try soda blasting for your bottom paint removel. It's completely harmless to the fiberglass under the paint, leaves no scratches or swirl marks. You can get it done professionally or, if you have a good compressor you can buy a kit for under $100 from Harbor Freight that will do the job.
(not counting the baking soda media). I used it on my old Cruisers, Inc. 21 footers bottom and it was fast and harmless. Personally I highly recommend getting someone to do the job since it leaves a lot of residue on the ground (Baking soda and paint mixed together) that needs to be cleaned up. If you're going to be trailering only then yes, no paint is the way to go. IMHO.

Default I know a guy... Master Blaster

Excellent suggestion Destroyer. I just had the inside of a sailing dingy done (much coarser).
Why didn't I think about that for the bottom of my boat. Can the gelcoat be buffed back to a shine?

I was going to ask the same thing....can you elaborate on the paint? I have been using two different paints for the hull and bracket.
I am using Ablative Antifouling Paint, it is made to come off the boat, you just need to apply every year to the areas that it comes off so it doesn't build up.
I used it on the V20 and now the OX and have never had any issues with it on either bracket.

I also use an ablative but I was under the impression that on the aluminum bracket you need to use something like Pettit Alumacoat or Alumaspray as the copper in the regular paint would react and corrode the aluminum......if you've had no problems I may reconsider. That can of alumaspray is not cheap.
