Default Took the Ox out today

Well its getting late in the season here in these parts!!

I have been waiting for a nice day to go get some Cod, But like the hole summer weather has not been great.

Went for dinner with BS last night and we decided if wind was good today we would head out, well it was flat when I woke, and I called BS and off we went, and what a day!!
Took a bit to get the Ox started as BS may no how to build them, but he floods mine every time!! But she roared to life and off we went.
Tried for some fish but nothing, but saw another guy out there that was catching some Tog. So we moved around a bit and relaxed, after a couple of hours headed in.

Well if next week the weather does not get better I will call it a year, been a short season for me with bad weather and bad health, but can't wait for this long winter to be over!!

I can't catch anything but a cold myself. So don't feel bad. It's good you got to use the boat though.

Did you go out CC bay or buzzards bay?

Yea, I am itchen to go out one more time myself. This weekend looks great weather wise, but is all booked up for me. They are saying mid 60's next week, maybe I can try to take a day off. I was thinking tog fishing around black rock. Not sure if I have enough gas to go out deep enough for cod, don't want to refill before winter.

I'm headed down to SC this weekend and will probably take the V solo if the weather looks good. The bite is pretty strong down there right now for reds and sheeps. Trout are starting to turn on as well. Here in NC the season doesn't end since we have stripers biting all winter long on the lakes and the coast. I don't winterize, rather I just try to run the boat a couple times per month at a minimum.

I just put in for a vaca day for next Monday! If the bay is calm I might try Cleveland light (never fished there before), otherwise stick close to black rock or the rocks by sconticut point or cover behind west island...

Hopefully the long range forecast is correct.

Maybe I will see you out there?
