Hi Everyone, Lifelong sailer here, with a motor question. Used to be I'd put just about any sort of oil into my small outboard and turn it over a couple times. How does one fog a v-4? And must one use "engine fogger" or will just about anything suffice?
David, in Connecticut

I believe you will want to use an "engine fogger".
The purpose of fogging is: 1. remove all of the gas from the motor so it doesn't turn to varnish while stored. 2. keep all metal oiled up to prevent rust. 3. make killer smoke.

I never use fogging oil, I use Mystery Oil, starter her up and squirt it in while running. pull the gas line when you start it so it will run out of gas while fogging, your all done!
If fogging for a long long long time I will add Mystery to the spark plug holes, she be fine for years that way!

I knew a guy in the mountains where I grew up that put a cap full of Mystery Oil in every tank of gas.....his Chevette ran forever.
