Hey - I've been busy :)

Here's my list of excuses . . . not sure which ones I've used yet.

Wife's going to France for the next 9 months Aug 29th - trying to make her happy before she leaves.
Got my Commercial Salmon Permit
Rigged up both boats for fishing
Attained Power Seller Status on Ebay (average $1000/month in sales) while working full time (50+hrs week)
Taking classes at night.
and I quit my job - Last day is Aug 23rd

Thanks for the remind about that thread . . . What I wouldn't do to have that job with those ladies :)

Got my powerseller status from buying blown Mercury motors and parting them out. I've got no problem selling, but finding inexpensive blown motors is a PIA. It's fantastic money if you don't mind getting dirty.

I've also repowered both my boats with some really nice motors. One cost $350 and the other I got in a package deal . . . 2.5 motors for $700. Both are right out of a time capsule.

Hi BS,

I admire the job you are doing on this bracket modification. I have been thinking of either buying or building a bracket for my V20 Cuddy. The main reason for the bracket is that I have taken some water over the stern from following seas that made my a$$ pucker more than once. Closing in the transom should help that problem alot. A secondary reason is that I want to install a kicker sometime soon for reasons of economy and installing on a bracket instead of the transom mount seems cleaner and easier. I want to do this without screwing up the balance and basic integrity of the boat.

Where did you get the technical information to build and install it? When I looked at your pics, immediate questions came up in my mind. Questions such as, the bracket is stepped up from the bottom, how did he determine how much? How much engine setback? How much positive flotation? etc, etc, etc,.

I have experience with building cedar strip canoes and kayaks so fiberglassing and using epoxy are not new to me. However, naval architecture isn't my strongest suit!!!
