2ndChance,

She looks really nice. Thanks for posting the pics.

Hey, I would echo CB's question; are you sure 18" is enough setback to tilt the motor up to a reasonable position? Did your other boat have a similar transom angle and was the bracket positioned similar to the position on the V?

I suppose the only way to know for sure is to hang the motor and try it out. So, get to work man ;D

The measurement from the keel to the top of the bracket is 26.5" (perfect) and the exact same motor is being put on the bracket that was on it before and it always worked before.

2ndChance,

The position looks right to me, I wasn't questioning that (perhaps you were answering Hammer). I was only curious as to whether you had the same amount of transom above the bracket on both boats and whether or not both boats have a similar (or close) degree transom.

The work looks excellent. Did he gelcoat everything back there as well? Nice.

I understand Pastor, I'm just trying to answer everyones questions. Actually the bracket fits the V20 better than the Renkin. That is a paint on the transom which is fine with me since the boat will be kept on the trailer. I must say he did a great job on matching the color. Does anyone out there know what shade of white Wellcraft put on the 80 V's. I may want to repaint the interior later.
