I'm happy to hear you guys offering trailers. I don't have a spare anymore, but was going to offer to put one of my boats on blocks and bring it's trailer down. You guys saved me a lot of driving.

I was gonna say the same thing. I could block my v21 and meet someone half way if need be. Sounds like y’all have it figured out but if anyone needs a haul just let me know.

You guys are great! I'm buying a trailer (from one of our own here!) but just wasn't sure about the timing, and when I wrote the original post I was freaking out a bit. The storm track for Florence isn't looking bad for us now so I'm feeling a lot better about the old PD, but I'm worried about y'all to the north of here . . .
Yeah, Tropical Tidbits and Mike's Weather Page are my go-to for storm info. In fact Mike's links to some of Tropical Tidbits. ![]() Looking back now I see that the link that I am using for these storm projection maps is updating each one of them. The one in my original post is this morning's, not what it was when I posted, so I don't need to keep posting these maps. |

intensification, and increased forward speed spells trouble especially north of eye wall landfall where that storm surge will be worst.
Good thing is with so much weather info., at least the tracking and up to date data is constantly available. Then.....as it slows after landfall the heavy rain becomes the 2nd danger. Good luck to all. |

Major shoutout and kudos to Bradford! Thanks to him the PD is now 15 miles inland and sitting on his trailer. He's the man!
![]() Thank you to everyone else who offered. I had mixed feelings about leaving it in the water, especially when the state called for a "mandatory" evacuation beginning tomorrow. I'm pretty sure that me taking her out of the water caused the forecast track to move northward away from here as soon as I made the call. Best wishes for everyone in the path of this storm. May we all come out of it safe and sound. |

I went up to Sneads Ferry yesterday, battened every thing down, cut the power off. Left a 6 pack of miller light in the fridge and mowed the grass in defiance
