I love my 4 stroke. I can't think of any good reason to buy a new 2 stroke in 2016.

All major brands are quality, really. They all have their pluses and minuses.

If you are looking at price as a factor, don't rule out Suzuki. You can get more bang for the buck and get a 6 yr warranty.
OEM Suzuki maintenance parts are readily available on Boats.net at reasonable prices.

I have 12 years and over 900 hrs on my DF140 and I trust it to go 60 miles east and back.

My trips to Chicken Canyon (60 miles straight shot)always burn 41-42 gallons. that includes trolling for hours, running to strings of pot markers, and a detour home to fish spots on the way in. Roughly 140 mile round trip. One of these times I should set the trail on the gps and get the actual total.

about 3.5 mpg average over the whole trip.
The motor is running from 430am until about 3 pm

These trips are always when its flat so I'm running 30 mph, trolling at 6 - 8mph
Heavy with fuel and ice...and rods....

let me tell you, running hard for 2 hrs straight ain't easy on the body

I know this is a yamaha thread, but I'll stick my neck out for the evinrudes. My 150 was $2500 less than a carbed 2 stroke yamaha. Buys a lot of 2 stroke oil. My 90 came with a 7 year warranty. I ran a 115 yamaha in the keys for a week which was a nice engine, but my 90 etec will walk it's dog, even on a larger and heavier boat with more wetted surface.

Ferm touting fourstrokes?!?!............Y'all better get right with God if you haven't already because the end is near lol.
