It is supposed to feel like -48c/-55f tomorrow morning. Saskatchewan is in the -60c/-70f's. I guess hit the beer store and load up on fire wood for the weekend.

how this for some interesting reading from the former founder of Greenpeace before the senate hearing on climate change last week

http://www.epw.senate.gov/public/ind...5-ae3951197d03

and for those that don't want to read all 42 pages

"There is no scientific proof that human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) are the
dominant cause of the minor warming of the Earth’s atmosphere over the past 100
years. If there were such a proof it would be written down for all to see. No actual
proof, as it is understood in science, exists."

Default Tides up

I'm no climate warmer or global changer but the water level in my area (Chesapeake Bay Area) has risen noticeably in the last 30 some odd years.
Someone told me there are more large ships sailing the oceans which adds weight causing the water to rise. Doesn't matter. The water is still rising. Might as well get some political traction by claiming your own reasons. This uneducated redneck just sees the water rising and wonders.

. Thanks for the link. I have a friend who has his PHD in physics who is a global warming climate changer. I'll send him this link but will surely get a reply that confirms his opinion (along with Dianne Reams) that I am an uneducated redneck.

my parents have a place in NC that sits on a canal, linked to a bay, that is intersected by the Intracoastal water way, that's right around the corner from a major inlet. I have pictures of our sea wall from back in the 70's and pictures as recent as last fall, you can see the vegetation line across the sea wall, still in the same place it was 40 years ago. We were told back in the 70's if the earth warmed one degree, New York City would be under water, we can only hope so.

I know, it's silly really.

knowing what I know by studying statistics heavily in college, the data the the scientist are touting as evidence that man is altering the course of the climate does not convince me either way.

The data points fluctuate so much and to such extremes that it makes it very hard to accurately predict a trend.
