It is hard to stay away from politics these days. The entire board representing Florida on the FWC are appointed by the governor of Florida. Some are on their second or third term and were appointed by Jeb Bush. Others by Charlie Christ. They are not making the case for us but they are aware of the economics. That said, they appear to be following suit with the ones that want to protect the fish with a complete ban on the take. If it is done with an Executive Order, Florida does not need the FWC except for enforcement. Big government, they know best right? Both sides of the isle have lost touch with their constituents. Because we do not have years of very well funded lobyist on our side we are behind in the effort and unless something changes fast, we will never catch up.
Q. How do you like your redfish? A. Poached and blackened.. |

Thanks to the economy (and resulting layoffs) I've been doing the work of 3 people for over a year now, so I never have time to fish anymore. Not that I'm complaining (a lot), since I feel fortunate to have a job at all.

y'know, i think we've all wondered how fishing would improve if there was a total ban on fishing for a year or two, but i really hope this piece of sh!t focuses on his unwritten healthcare bill so he completely forgets to destroy all of our other liberties.
or, i sure do hope he drops dead in the next 27 minutes, pile of dung that he is.
