well i was removing one of the hubs and broke the trans axle in the rearend. so i have torn the trans down and now have it open with the tractor torn all a part. i'll take some pics of it tonight if i get a chance, then you can see what a real lawn mower / garden tractor should look like in the trans and motor setup.

well i was pulling a 14" bottom plow when the axle broke and split. so i'm working her like the ol machine was built too. not selling any of my gravelys love them. i've got several of both the old Model L walk behinds and 3 of the 800 series riders.

here's a few pics of the trans off the tractor and of it opened up.

here's the frame and parts without trans notice i left the hydraulic pump together to keep from loosing fluid.

New Ag tires mounted for the Gravely

Rear lift hitch parts off tractor

new old stock Axles and hubs for trans.

the 16.5 HP Onan from the tractor

and what started this whole trans opening was the keeper came off this axle inside the rear axle. plus now found other axle is split and broken in the key way.

That transmission says a lot about the quality of those old tractors. No wonder why it's been around for so long.

Remember when everything was built that way, and right here.
