Default Re: Weight and Packaging for Lower Unit?

We have shipped plants around the world and have finally come up with a reasonable method. One thing to keep in mind is the weight; box, packing and piece to be shipped. Certain shippers limit the weight of the package so be prepared for that. What I would suggest is to get a box the size the unit will fit in plus at least a couple of inches on either side. Some shippers and box manufactureres charge extra for odd sizes (it might be cheaper to ship in a larger box than you need). Go to Homedepot or Lowes (etc) and get some styro foam type insulation panels, it comes in thicknesses from 1/2-2".
Line the entire perimeter of the box with the in foam panel and then cut to form around the unit to reduce movement. Before letting the unit go for what ever price take into consideration your cost of packaging (handling) and shipping. If this don't make enough sence let me know. Benny
