I had one gauge as you say, But they never worked right and I have no used a gauge in 8 years!

I just know now, I do a 30 mile round trip, and maybe another 10 or 20 moving around tyrying different spots and when they day is done I have used 15 to 18 gal gas.
Unless I went off shore, I have never used more then 1 tank of gas for the day.
I also have a 3rd tank I put were the I/O use to be before I converted, Thats total 65 gal.
