Well actually there is kinda a tie for the baddest IMO right now. One is obviously the .500 S&W magnum and the other is its "little" brother the 460 S&W mag. When S&W invented the XVR revolver capable of handling the big .500 a few years ago they had it in their minds to bring out the .460 later. The .500 wins in terms of mass by grainage, but the 460 is by far the better round for hunting. It shoots way faster and way flater, therefore dispersing more energy. It is capable of a 250 yard shot with no hold over when zeroed @200 yards! CRAZY performance from a handgun cartridge!!!

The other cool thing about the .460 chamber is it is basically a long version of the .454 Casull. This means it will also shoot both the 45 long colt and the .454. Just think, if I dont wanna spend the $$ on the 460 ammo I can go "plinking" with some .454 rounds. LOL
