Here is a photo of one of my hatches when I bought the boat. Notice the shims as MJ said those are factory. I made my hatch out of 3/4" and still used the factory shims. You could do a phester said and route the hinge in or if you have access to a plainer, plain the whole hatch down to the thickness needed. Keep up the good work. It will come together. Bill Mc ;D
