I believe a 30 inch setback is pretty standard and should allow room for any v6 to be fully raised.
However, I don't think the extra 3 inches is gonna hurt you. *I'd leave it alone and install it as it is... Also pay attention to whether you have a 20 or 25 inch shaft motor. *That will make a difference in figuring everything out. I hope to be dealing with these same questions before long...
