Anchor Roller

If you want to use an anchor roller, try to use one in conjuction with a deckpipe that allows the anchor rode to drop down into the anchor locker. Inside the anchor locker, I run the tag end through a hole in a block of wood larger than the diameter of the deckpipe. This will prevent accidental loss of anchor and rode should it slip out of your hands before tying off to a cleat.
The bow rollers really make it easy to pull the anchor and save the hull and rubrail from getting beat up.
