Hey Skool, motorcycle carb question

I am already to take apart and clean, but the throttle cable goes through the top of the carb and through the top of the barrel slide. I can't get the carb loose from the bike because of the cable. i checked with the local honda dealer and parts are non available, so I have to be real careful with the ones I've got. This carb dosen't have a shaft, no butterfly. I think it is metal on metal so I will try the oil. CB & Skools thanks for the input. I,m almost through with re-wiring the V-20 so I thought I needed another project till spring.
