Axe, I've had two different 150s on my '74 and both are/were great performers...you should expect to cruise around 30 mph and top out at 40 or so, depending on conditions, top, load, etc...suggest you use a large diameter prop (15'' to 15 1/4'') w/17 pitch...good luck w/it... ;D...
Oh yeah, if that '89 Johnny you're lookin' at still has the VRO (auto-oiler) hooked up, jmho, DISCONNECT IT and start pre-mixin' your oil/gas...sounds painful, I know, but less pain than blowin' a power-head due to VRO failure, which they have a history of doin'...Accu-Mix bottle $3.99 makes mixin' a breeze ;)... CHECK the compression on that (or any used) motor B4 you buy it...
