You’re an exceptionally good guy. I hope this brings relief and a really fresh start.
I also think you’re onto something getting away from your own business. You’d be an incredible rep with your hands on experience and having spent decades in my own business, I know it can be a pretty big pain - it can be plenty stressful and often not very profitable. Looking forward to hearing how you get on as things develop.

things are getting better. I'll probably close my business down in March, planning on moving to Raleigh NC(my home town) once this is finalized. I've applied for an assistant managers position at the west marine in Raleigh, it would be the perfect job for me right now. I have more plans and bigger things' happening, but keeping most of that close for the time being. I've had a greats summer so far, kinda bummed summer is almost over. A lot depends on what happens with teh ex, btw, her cancer came back last summer, she's had surgery, going thru chemo and radiation right now. I'm guessing her boyfriend wasn't prepared to deal with this. I've had some serious mixed feeling s about all this crap. Good news is my girls are doing great in Charlotte. I've been spending more time in Sneads ferry, actually took my sailboat(Isotope) out for a spin a couple weeks ago. I've spent a good amount of time up that way this year. I borrowed a jet ski from the guys I rent from and did a Charleston Harbor trip and a Cooper River trip on it. If any of you guys are in the market for a ski, contact me, the guys I rent from run a jet ski rental company, they have 36 Seadoos up for sale right now. 2023 year model, all unde 100 hours. End of the season sale.

Sounds like you got a plan,Spare. That s the most important part. Hardest part of any task is getting started.
My daughter has been working at West Marine part time for 18 years, started when she was 16. Pay is not great, but employee discounts are great. Having someone who knows the pointy end from the flat end of a boat will be a great asset. |

Spare, good to hear from you and congratulations on the finalization of your divorce. One of our daughters moved to Raleigh a few months back after her BF bought a house. I didn't realize you were originally from Raleigh.
My other daughter is going down the same path you went down, after only 3 years of marriage. It sucks real bad for her since it wasn't something she did or wanted. Luckily no kids or significant assets yet, but still tough on all parties. It was a real shock to everyone.
