Not only did we have cobia, we had COBIA!!!! We were targeting them and catching half a dozen per day. Big ones. 40s. 50s. 60s. They were everywhere! I’ll bet we were getting them more consistently than the southern guys.
Weakfish here feed mostly on peanut bunker and big grass shrimp. Them bunker really ruin a fish. My kid’s been bringing home triggerfish last few days. BIG ones. Got about 6-8 pounds of them in the freezer now. Beautiful meat. They eat crabs and clams and basically whatever they can crunch in those bada$$ crushers. Nice, white meat. Makes for a great sammich.

I tell ya, Blue. God bless global warming! All we need are tarpon and mutton snapper and I don’t see a reason to go south. The fishing gets better, year after year and if this GD part would ever get here, the dolphin are inshore. 7-10 miles south and waiting for me to get there.
