so as cheap insurance, i picked up a new anti siphon valve. cost me $12 bucks and now i'm halfway there. blasted compressed air through the pickup tube and cleaned out the screen. i'll pull the starboard rod box and check the tank vent hose. clean that and the vent hardware and hopefully not have to replace that at $40 bucks. gonna pull the batteries to get to the filter/water separator and the fuel line and bulb. the worst part for me is gonna be the length of fuel line from the bulb to the motor. it's in that big a$$ hose protector and i haven't even looked at that yet. i don't know how it comes off/opens up.
in any case, i hope to be tossing live killies to dolphin by this time next week. i bought a medium action shimano trevala for the 3500 slammer IV and i have 300 yards of power pro 20 pound braid arriving some time this week.
cross your fingers, gents. a few more hours and a few more bucks and we should be cooking with oil.
