Only way to get at tank pickup tube is to pull anti siphon valve.

Hmm, I think I saw a fuel cap that is also a vent built into it, but I'm not sure. Check google or wait for Spareparts
Hey Charlie I'm not on Facebook anymore, I don't know how to delete my Facebook so I unfriended everyone, The best thing I did. Why don't you try running it on a portable fuel tank? That will narrow it down . If it still callapsing then the primer ball is the enemy.

I also remember seeing a bunch of crap on the bottom of the tank after we pumped it out. Didn’t get a real good look because we had to peak through the hole for the sender. From what I could see, there was a ton of grit and sediment on the tank floor. This leads me to believe it could very well be the pickup. I got the whole fitting to turn a bit yesterday which is what I don’t want. I’m gonna put a large adjustable wrench on the fitting itself and a smaller wrench on the actual valve and see if I can crack it like that. Probably shoot it with penetrant a couple more days as I’ve already missed this weekend anyway. Also, I’m gonna drive out east again and swap out the new rod I bought for a different, slightly more expensive one. Then, another $30 or so bucks for line and braid. At this rate, I’ll be fishing again around 2026.

I went through all that and after I replace the fuel line from tank back to the motor my issues went away for good.

Hey Blue, I hear you but Charlie says it's very difficult to replace the fuel line and he also said there is a lot of crud I. The bottom of the tank . That's the enemy
1st. Replace the fuel line 2nd remove the fuel and clean the inside of the tank Or like I advise him. Run it on a portable tank and see what happens.

from my experience, do it all and be done with it. Pull the pickup from the tank, replace it, if its got a plastic tube, they work loose at the aluminum fitting and suck air. Install a new anti siphon valve(lowest vacuum setting you can find), run new fuel line, install a new water separating fuel filter, new fuel line to teh primer bulb, new line from teh bulb to teh engine. If the engine has a quick disconnect, remove it and plumb teh fuel line directly to teh fuel filter on teh engine. 2-3 hours labor

That’s the plan but I’m having a hard time breaking the valve from the fitting on the tank. I tried to turn the valve and the fitting turned with it. I’m gonna try to get a wrench on the fitting and turn the valve against the fitting. I’m hoping I can get a wrench on that fitting. This is turning into a big job.
