Skunkboat, or others using a pivoting roller, how do you secure the anchor so that the pivoting part of the roller assembly doesn***8217;t bounce around? I have the pivoting roller through bolted and back plated directly to the deck with the original bow cleat still in place. No matter how I do it, I can***8217;t get enough down pull on the stem of the anchor to prevent the roller from drooping and bouncing around. I***8217; ve considered drilling through both portions of the roller and pinning it but would prefer not to go that route. Any tips?

But I didn't have much problem when it was not being used. Just a little bounce with the chain wrapped on the cleat

Thanks Skunkboat. I***8217;ve been doing something similar with the chain***8230;you***8217;re right, it really doesnt move around too much. I***8217;d rather not remove the bow cleat to make room for the tensioner. I imagine if I run the way it is for a bit I***8217;ll get used to it and quit worring about it. Thanks.

I just put an old speargun rubber through the anchor shackle, pull the anchor up and the pull the rubber up over the cleat. Snubs it up fine
![]() on the anchor ![]() on the pulpit Also, if you're going to hang your anchor overboard, make sure you safety wire the clevis pin so it won't back out i watched the anchor fly off and heard & felt it hit the prop. Cost me about $400 to learn that lesson Last edited by phatdaddy; 03-30-2022 at 05:30 PM. |
