I know my home waters pretty good. No flats or surprises. Unless there’s a submerged hazard somewhere…. It’s all pretty much open water for me.

Charlie, I agree with Step, SS is the way to go. You never know what's in the water, that you, we can't see. I know bucks are really hard today, but if you can swing it, go for it.

The guy I bought my V from owns the local prop shop. It had an aluminum prop on it when I got it, which surprised me. He said he would rather break a 100 dollar prop than a five hundred dollar lower unit.
