there should be a thick brass washer before the nut, look on the old prop, its probably stuck flush and looks like part of the prop, sometimes they are stainless

Yeah, the thrust washer is there. It looks like the prop that was on there was the wrong size. After some research, it looks like there’s a spacer and a flat washer that goes on top of the stack right under the castle nut. Using the prop with the wrong hub depth, they eliminated the original spacer and washer.
So I’m gonna get the parts off eBay and see what it’ll take to fix the prop. I’d love to get a stainless and keep the aluminum as a spare, but the boss doesn’t want to hear about more expense right now.

wasnt talking about the thrust washer, but you seemed to figure it out, see if theres a thick spacer washer on the nut end of the old prop

There is not, but this is one of the ones I just ordered. On the old prop, the hub was a good half inch higher than the new one. I’m on vacation next week. I’m gonna run the prop down to the prop guy and see what it’ll cost to bring it back. Ideally, I’d like to pop a stainless prop on there and use the new aluminum as a spare. Gotta see if the old money tree blooms in the spring.
