I've been part of an angry mob that was supported by the Government. Also as part of that mob I'm sure I helped kill lots of people. It is called the US Navy, one of the US military branches. So to answer your question, I'd go as far as I was ordered to go by my commander in chief or his lawful subordinates.

It's obvious that you have no idea about the military justice system. You might want to find a copy of the UCMJ (Uniform Code Of Military Justice) before you make another silly remark.

I'll help you out on this one though.

If your superior gives you a direct order, and you refuse to obey it, (depending on the circumstances) you can be shot on the spot. For instance, if you're told to charge up a hill and you refuse. No lofty speeches, no arguing with him or her, just BANG!!, you're dead. OR you might be arrested, go before a military tribunal where 3 judges will hear your case and then decide on your punishment. (which can be anything from a long prison sentence at Leavenworth Prison to execution by firing squad)

I wonder if you would be so adamant in your answer as you were tied to a post, just before they executed you?
