Yes, it has. At least twice, both started by you.
http://www.wellcraftv20.com/communit...ad.php?t=19048 http://www.wellcraftv20.com/communit...ad.php?t=22992 But I'm happy to play along. Like you, I've taken mine out 10-15 miles years ago, but I'm older and more cautious than I was then. There are just too many things that can go wrong in a 20' boat with a single engine out in the Atlantic. Up and down the ICW I'll go as far as weather and daylight allows. |

I launch out of Atlantic highlands municipal marina and I went to 17 fathoms that's east of the mud bouy so if I had to guess, 20 miles , south east and always had the shore line in view. One way of course .
And it is always good to bring up an old post , refreshes the mind and brings up memory's , good job bgreene

Took mine waaaaaaay too far but felt like I was as prepared as about any boat out there. Doesn't matter how big or how many motors (to a point!) if you aren't prepared to begin with.
I was more comfortable at 45 - 50 miles in the V than 65+ FWIW. Once you hit the gulfstream a lot of times it will be more windy/choppy out there. Where I fish the stream is 65 from the rocks. It has been a few years since I ventured out more than 10 miles. Mainly because the epirb expired but I also started to re-think taking my old boat and motor out so far.

When I had my V, we ran a good 20 miles off. When I get my next one, I’m gonna run that sh!t to Bimini!!
People make the run on jet skis. I’ll be confident making it in a solid 20, if the conditions are right.
