Thanks guys, just trying to keep the fishing section alive.
Blue, the whiting were eaten Sunday night, fried with smoked cheese grits Then 1 pompano grilled whole Monday night 2 pompanos filleted and pan fried w saluted veggies Tuesday night 2 pompanos filleted and made into tacos with mango salsa for Cinco de Mayo The remaining 5 went to my daughter and her family and friends Last edited by phatdaddy; 05-05-2021 at 06:49 PM.

 We will be fishing sooooooon! Those whiting we call croakers. Whiting here is silver hake. In the 70s-early 80s we used to catch 5 gallon buckets of them at night on the beach in December. Russian draggers came and scooped them up...all but a memory in NJ...

we have "Northern Kingfish" that are similar to croaker but have dark bands. They are all in the drum (croaker) family with Redfish (red drum), Black drum (channel Bass), Weakfish/Seatrout, California White Seabass
