Pipe, I知 learning that the 4Runner from the same era had the same motor, and I知 assuming the same tranny. Other than the initial bringing her home haul, I have a ramp about half a mile away and another about 3.5 miles down the road.
Phat, as far as balls, a round trip to the far ramp is less than 8 miles, including the drive through the gas station. 5.3 is more than ballsy enough for my local ramps. Only issue is, as you can see... the mileage on a 15-20 year old truck. Another good thing, my round trip to and from work is less than two miles per day. I知 assuming the little V8 in the 4Runner will be adequate for dragging 4,000 pounds of boat and trailer up the ramp. I壇 love to go with something with a bed, but they seem to command a premium.

its hard to find anything Toyota with less than 300k for under $10000. People pay stupid money for them. I still have my 02 Suburban, cloth seats and 282k on the original drive line.

So the Chevy trailblazer looks nice and is pretty cheap, relatively speaking. I saw a 2006 with under 100K for $4K. Very clean and has a tow package.
Anybody??

You need to talk to Ferm about them, Hardware wise they are solid, from what I've heard, they have all kinds of electrical issues.

Yeah. My only issue will be initial contact, as the boat we池e currently looking at should be a solid 3 hour drive. Once we get it home, the only issue we値l have is dragging it up a wet ramp.

Ford Explorer if towing up to around 5,500 lbs
Lots of them for sale, lower cost and if you dont mind a few minor issues great bang for the buck. My 04 150,000 miles, orig engine and trans still running fine as of yesterday Last edited by bgreene; 05-12-2021 at 06:37 AM. |

I hauled my V with my Tacoma 3.4 v6 4x4 for years and it pulled it ok but had trouble stopping it in a hurry. I bought a Tundra w/5.7 v8 4x4 in 2016 and it doesn't know its behind it. Great truck! The Sequoia has the same powertrain. Powerful!
