Well I had another good summer with Amanda. Sad to say winter is coming for me and took Amanda out of the water over the weekend. Me and my crew won the big fish in the Redrockfish derby in June. $1000 for the big fish and $1000 from Garmin for having there equipment mounted on the boat. Lake Superior salmon fishing up here this year was so so but still fun. A few sundowners up the Kam River with the wife was also relaxing. All and all good summer.

Bunch of really great people on this site. But sometimes we get so wrapped up in our own lives that we don't have time or think we don't have anything interesting to say, when in fact, we do. We just need to be prodded a little sometimes. I'm hoping that Scook will ask his wife for her pie crust recipe so we can all try it.

I’ll do that D. The reason for the delay in trying your recipe (which she said sounded unique and interesting) is that we’re on a much needed vacation. After being up more than 24 hours and a 4 and 10 hour flight, I’m dog screaming tired and writing this before dozing off in Rome.

It’s the weirdest thing - there are all these people here who look just like folks you’d see in any big American city but they’re all speaking Italian. Fortunately for us many do speak reasonable English and for emergencies, I have Google translator on my phone now.

Anyway, we’ll be here most of the month, see Rome, Florence, Venice and Cinque Terra, five little towns tucked up in the cliffs along the coast where I hope to have a peaceful recovery from all the big city museums, etc. and maybe meet some of the fishermen who work the ocean in old wooden boats.

Great on the pie crust. Thank you

I highly recommend Pisa, (The tower is cool, but the cathedral right next to it is breathtaking) and Naples if you have the chance. And Mt Vesuvius is a MUST see.
