steady 40 mph winds gusting to about 65. Got a couple trees down, but nothing major. Supposed to peak around 2. Then I'm worried about the Sneads Ferry house tonight and into tomorrow

Worried about my parents house in Surfside SC. Seems to be right in the path. No one is there thankfully, so we'll have to wait and see how it turns out. Bad think it is scheduled to hit there right about the same time as high tide. House is at least 1/2 mile inland so not too worried about surge, moreso worried about rain/runoff flooding as the house is on a slab foundation. Hope all my favorite places - bait shops, boat ramp, restaurants, marshwalk, etc. pull thru!

Praying for y'all up there, mostly just tree debris here. Savannah dodges another one.

Glad you all are okay. Same for us on Hilton Head. A lot of tree litter to clean up, but I'll take that as opposed to worse and be happy. Hauled out the ol' PD Sunday evening and moved it to shop at work. (As Linda Ronstadt sang, "I learned my lesson, it left a scar.") Packed up our household Tuesday and left Wednesday morning for Aiken, only to turn around and return yesterday (Thursday).

Sitting in the hotel in Aiken Thursday morning and watching the weather channel, they interviewed our mayor by phone, who said "we lost about a dozen trees." Hell, there were that many big trees down within a mile of our house, much less on the entire island. He went on to say that no one on the island lost power. Not 3 minutes later a reporter says there are 6,000 on the island without power. I don't know what he was thinking. Or drinking. The worst of it seems to have been confined to the immediate coast. Inland just a couple miles I can't tell anything happened. Thankful Dorian didn't come as close to us as Matthew did.

Hoping and praying for all of those up the coast from us, and for the people of the Bahamas. They need all they can get.

Glad everyone made it through Dorian ok. We had wind and rain but not too bad. Lost power for a day but generator covered that well. Hope that's the last one for this season, have to wait and see.
