Thanks guys, it was a good day. Kingfish is not my favorite, but fresh, it is not bad. Pan fried some and made dip out of the rest.

BG, i like my hat. I ve had enough little chunks cut out of me over the years, i try to cover up as much as possible.

I like the hat too. I have one that I wear on the lake but man the slightest wind or try to go above idle and a big hat like that wants to flap and "take off." lol

I'm with you on the covering up. Thanks for the report!

On the subject of sun exposure, my cousin who lived in San Diego and spent a lot of time in the sun died of an undiagnosed white melanoma (I think they’re pretty rare).

In our last conversation before he died, he told me not to rely on a general practitioner to check for precancer/cancer on my skin. He said to be checked by a dermatologist. After that, I switched to a new health plan and since my dad had been having spots frozen off his face, I asked the general doc to have a look. He said I looked fine and I told him about my cousin and asked to see a specialist - the dermatologist saw me in a few weeks and froze off five or six spots.

For those of us who like to fish, especially you guys in Florida and similar places, we need to cover up AND be checked by a specialist.

agree with you. I have been to several dermatologist. I have a couple of irregular brown spots on my neck and around my collar bone. At least 3 different dermatologists have said it is blood vessel related and they can tell because it is more red and when they push on it the blood pushes out. If I had only seen 1 dermatologist I'd still be worried about it.

I have several divots where they dug stuff out, what you get for being of Anglo-Saxon stock and living in a subtropical location. Also not helping that i have worked outside for 50 years, and played outside on the weekends for 60 years.

You ll notice i have always have on long sleeves, hat, buff and gloves.
