Epoxy isn't all that complicated or hard. Glen L has a sample kit for $50 that works perfect for the kind of jobs that you (and I) are about to do. Epoxy Resin, gloves, mix & measure stuff, microspheres, silica, all you'd need is some glass strip and you're set.
