they had a lot of good ideas on those engine then screwed themselves with one or more stupid ideas. i personally don't like them and wont do anything other than basic service on them. The fuel/oil system is garbage and way more complicated than it needs to be. It has plastic carbs that are probably already warped due to age if not a heavy handed mechanic. Those carbs are no longer available. I've also seen those blocks corrode thru pretty bad as well.

I had 2 of those mid 90's loopers.....150hp, same motor.
If runs properly now, can be reliable but those are outdated so should be cheap. De carb important, can be hard to start if it floods so follow proper cold start choking. Powerful .........I believe the 150s were around 165 hp at prop. |

I've got 2 of them in the counter 150 hp set, they are great motors from 92 up. Not really any issues except VRO Sucks.
