wash the boat thoroughly before sanding. I dry sand with p800 on my da to start with, be very careful using any power tools. Then I switch to 1200 wet, then 1500 wet. I use biff magic 2000 compound then a good wax. Tape off any hard edges before sanding and do not try to sand out the little black spots, they get bigger the more you sand(you're going thru the gel)
