Has anyone removed the pot warp/poly rope that's used as an insert from the V20 rubrails of the 80's? Mine looks ratty. It seems like a simple enough job, but wondering if there is a not-so-obvious reason that it's a b__ch.

			Thx

I did it a few years ago. Not so bad. Stern corners were tight.

Did it as well, since have switched rub rails. Fairly easy, use 5/8 inch rope as well.

The round butt end of a craftsman screwdriver wedged into the rail makes it easier to slip the rope in right behind it, slide it along as you go. I used Dawn dish soap too per Lumberslingers suggestion Leave some extra hanging down into the splashwell for a couple months for when it shrinks. If your rope is pretty old and eat up with UV it can be a little messy taking the old one out.

Thanks guys. I now see there were past threads on this. Should have searched first. These are helpful suggestions.
