So I spent a nice cold winter day at the NB Whaling Museum with Dad and Son. A very classy museum-you should visit if ever in the area. I think most of us that grew up in Souther New England visited a few times as school kids.
The Hunt exhibit as you would expect was very well done. Lots of pics, art, models, and even draws full of blue prints to peruse.
Dad spent most of his career as a marine Designer (Blount marine= dinner boats Spirit of New York, Spirit of Atlanta, etc-if you have ever been on a harbor cruise for dinner you were probably on one of his boats. Dad spent the latter part of his career at Gladding Hearn ship yard= Pilot boats, police/fire-NYPD- as well as "Fast ferries" catamarans to Vineyard, Block island...). Dad really grooved on pulling out some of the blue prints and scrutinizing.
It was a lot of fun, and a good day with family.
It occurred to me we have owned 3 Hunt boats; a Grady, Whaler, and now the V20.
Pics are in no particular order-just as I was walking around.
Enjoy, Bill
